Who are we?
We are a community of individuals united by our shared passion for cybersecurity. Our members include students, alumni, and seasoned professionals who are dedicated to expanding our knowledge and expertise in this ever-evolving field.
At our core, we believe that collaboration and mutual support are key to achieving success in cybersecurity. By working together, sharing our experiences and insights, and learning from one another, we can stay ahead of emerging threats and develop effective strategies to protect our organizations and clients.
And we've got an interesting sense of
humor...
What do we do?
Our primary focus is preparing for the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC), where we compete with other teams to defend a simulated enterprise network from cyber attacks. We train rigorously in the areas of network security, incident response, and other key aspects of cybersecurity to hone our skills and strategies for the competition.
However, we are not limited to CCDC. We also participate in Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions, which offer a fun and challenging way to test our skills and knowledge in various areas of cybersecurity. Additionally, we encourage our members to work on personal projects and pursue their own interests in the field.
What is the CCDC?
The Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) is a condensed simulation of life in corporate IT. Students (Blue Team) are expected to complete business tasks (injects) from upper management while maintaining the network and defending it from active attack by the Red Team (Group of professionals and security researchers).
What are CTF competitions?
Capture the Flag competitions are usually a Jeopardy-style set of computer security challenges in various categories. Teams work to solve each challenge and earn the most points by capturing the most flags. Common categories include Web (for web-based exploits), Forensics (Things like steganography), and Binary (for exploiting compiled binaries).
Sounds cool. I want to join!
If you want to get involved, come to one of our meetings and talk to us. We usually meet on Friday's during the school year. To find out the time and place of the next meeting and get updates on the team, sign up for our mailing list:
